About this title
The open curtains reveal Lexi, his best friend's mother. Mike knows the glimpse should remain a single embarrassing accident, yet he looks again. It becomes a habit, then a nightly ritual, and eventually an obsession he cannot simply abandon. The scenes across the road grow bolder as the weeks pass, making every ordinary conversation with Lexi more difficult for him to endure. More troubling still is the suspicion gradually forming in his mind: she may know precisely who is behind the telescope. If that is true, the open curtains may not be an oversight at all. Mike is left wondering what Lexi understands about his watching, and what she intends to do with that knowledge.
