Next Door
At twenty, Mike buys himself a telescope with every intention of studying the night sky. One evening, however, the lens drifts below the stars and stops at a brightly lit window across the street, where the curtains have been left open.

About this title
The woman inside is Lexi, his best friend's mother. Mike should have looked away after that first uncomfortable moment, but he returns to the window. A single glance becomes a habit, the habit becomes a nightly ritual, and the ritual edges toward an obsession he cannot shut down. What he sees across the street grows bolder over the following weeks, making every normal conversation with Lexi increasingly difficult for him to endure. More troubling is the suspicion slowly forming in his mind: she may know exactly who is behind the telescope. Mike cannot be certain that she is aware of him, much less why the curtains remain open. If she does know, he has no idea what she plans to do next.
