About this title
She has made up her mind about Sam and has no intention of accepting an answer she dislikes. Between hayrides, midnight swims and drawn-out days on the ranch, he tries to maintain the boundary, keep everybody content and conceal a secret that grows more difficult to carry. The isolated property offers nowhere to retreat, and the longer the weekend continues, the clearer it becomes that something must eventually give way. Sam is caught between loyalty, a promise he wants to honour and a situation he never expected to encounter at his own family home.
