About this title
The days pass between golden dunes and starry nights, and the isolation does most of the work: there is nobody else to talk to, nothing else to occupy his mind, and no easy way back. A forbidden tension settles over the oasis, and Lucas spends his energy fighting impulses he would rather not name. Eliza's gaze leaves little room for doubt about where she stands. In a setting this wild, the moral barriers they arrived with look thinner every evening, and the real question is whether either of them still intends to hold the line.
