Working under the sharp, magnetic Mr. Johnson, Hugh sees his chance: invite the boss home for dinner, make a good impression, and maybe bring some of that energy back into his own house. The evening goes better than he planned — far better, and largely not for him. The pull between his wife and his employer becomes harder and harder to overlook, and Hugh watches his own dinner party slip out of his hands.
